It's Raining Leaves!!

All the trees along the river have turned color now and every time there is a wind storm, it is literally raining leaves. Quite a sight! They are all over the grass and the sidewalks...but the city of Renton does it's best to blow them off. Fritz doesn't like them too much....he'd rather poop in the grass....I would rather that also -- easier to see. Too much information, huh?

The fish are pretty much dead now....there surely were a lot of them....of course they die right in front of us. The smell will come soon I expect. The male salmon sure do turn ugly .... They acquire a big ugly snout and big ugly fins.

We had a lady suddenly pass away this week. She was one of the "river ladies" - Coralie. Her dog is Holly and evidently she sat with her for a day an a half before she started barking. We were worried no one would take Holly in but today we learned Coralie's granddaughter will take her. A big relief to us all. Her son and grandson are here today to clear out her apartment. They brought all of her clothes and household stuff down to the "free table". It seemed a bit grisly to me to be pawing through that stuff before she was even buried. It is an odd family I guess. Not too close.

I have been sort of blah in recent weeks....discovered that my blood pressure is way too low. So another change in pills. I feel quite good today -obviously - I'm writing on my blog!!
But - for now - I am finished..

It's Fish Time

What a sight it is - on the Cedar River right where we walk our dogs. The salmon are coming up to spawn - and they are turning red. The current is fairly swift going the other way and it is really hard for them to get up stream. They tell me that they sort of give up and lay their eggs and die right in front of us....eventually the river area begins to stink with all the dead fish.....I can hardly wait for that one! - NOT!!

Otherwise life is fairly quiet these days. I have actually pulled out my sewing machine and started on Christmas gifts already...I have not touched that machine in four years....and it has taken me a while to get into the groove. Think I am about there, however, so it is full steam ahead. I had forgotten what a great boost it is to successfully sew something - and be proud of it!

I seem to have pulled out of the lethargy, thank goodness. Thank you, Wellbutrin! However, having said that I am ashamed to say that it is 11AM and I still haven't had breakfast....so I better get going.
