Tuesday evening it was announced that the cub scouts would be here to sing Christmas carols to us. So down I went to listen...and it was crowded....not only with residents but with cub scouts and their parents. There were probably 15 or 20 kids with all the parents helping out. They passed out song sheets so we could sing along. Talk about cute! after they were through, they came among us and chatted for a while.....then they attacked the cookies on the table behind. I have never seen so many cookies. Next year I will contribute to that cause. The kids are quick to say they love coming here because we have so many cookies and they can have as many as they want!
Before Thanksgiving, Jocelyn purchased two turkeys...one for that day and the other for the freezer. Well....she cooked the other one Thursday and had me over for dinner, as well as her good friend, Marci and Marci's sister. What a great evening that was!
Whenever the "management" wants to alert us to something, they come around and stick a flyer in our door.....The latest was to announce that Michael was coming Sunday evening, and we should all come down at 6 PM......So, of course, I came down.....out of curiosity. When I got there there was a table piled high with snack stuff to eat and two more piled high with groceries. Every chair had a big white kitchen-sized trash bag hanging on the back of our chairs...Those were to use during our "grocery shopping". OMG! You should have seen the groceries.... They even had people to pack our bags to our apartments if they were too heavy.....it was amazing.....Evidently Michael had his parents in this building and he was so impressed with the treatment they got, he decided to give back......for 11 years he has been doing this. I was amazed!
Busy week coming up....a couple gifts to finish....all of them to wrap....checkup at the doctor this afternoon.... 3 more gifts to purchase (which I can now do since I got my new debit card). Then to Jocelyn's for Christmas Eve and day....everyone will be there - a real plus. Joce and I will go the Christmas Eve church services - probably at the Episcopalian church across the park where I live.
I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas........embrace your family and remember those who are no longer with you.... and best wishes for a happy and healthy New Year.....love and kisses to you all!!!!
